Senior Living Platform
Designed an accessible digital healthcare platform for senior living, including a mobile app for residents and dashboards for caregivers, family members, and administrators. Led UX research, competitor analysis, user flows, wireframes, UI design, and developer collaboration to improve care coordination, emergency response, and daily monitoring.

Problem :
Designing a digital healthcare platform for older adults required balancing accessibility, privacy, and real-time care. Existing products were difficult to navigate, displayed too much information, and provided slow responses during emergencies. Caregivers also struggled to quickly identify residents who needed immediate attention.
One of the biggest challenges was detecting falls while maintaining each resident's privacy. The solution needed to provide accurate alerts without compromising confidentiality.
Solution :
I started with competitor research to understand how existing senior care platforms managed health monitoring, emergency alerts, and caregiver workflows. After analysing their strengths and gaps, I mapped user journeys and identified opportunities for improvement.
Working closely with the product team, I designed:
A mobile application for senior residents
Caregiver dashboard
Family dashboard
Admin dashboard
The platform followed accessibility principles with high colour contrast, readable typography, large touch targets, simple navigation, and clear information hierarchy.
To solve the privacy challenge, I researched AI camera technologies and learnt about pose estimation, where cameras detect body movements using skeletal outlines instead of recording identifiable video. This approach allowed the system to detect falls while protecting residents' privacy.
I documented the research, presented possible solutions to the team, and collaborated during brainstorming sessions before finalising the experience.
Challenge :
The biggest challenge was showing critical healthcare information without overwhelming caregivers.
Through stakeholder discussions and research, I identified the most important vital signs that caregivers needed to see immediately. The dashboard was redesigned to prioritise high-risk information first while keeping detailed health records available through a "See All" option.
Another challenge was creating different experiences for caregivers, administrators, family members, and residents while maintaining a consistent design system across the platform.
Summary :
The final solution provided an accessible and privacy-focused healthcare platform that helped caregivers respond faster, simplified health monitoring, and improved communication between residents, families, and staff.
The platform reduced information overload by prioritising critical data, improved emergency awareness through real-time alerts, and maintained resident dignity through privacy-preserving fall detection technology.
